WEBCAM February 2021
#1
Post webcam observations for February here.  Observations should start with a date and ‘jst’ time (Japan Standard Time) and camera(s).  Describe as best as possible what you see.  Contribute data such as weather conditions, work activities, TEPCO or local news reports, radiation readings, earthquake activity, or any information that documents events occurring at Daiichi.  Comments and analysis welcome.  Help keep an eye on TEPCO's disaster site.

02-13 23:08 EQ 7.0  Quite the shakeup on Cam 4.  Cam 1 on the EQ isolation pad even moved a bit.  If you watch the Cam 4 video full screen at about 2 minutes into the 3 minute clip, near the top of the tower something flies up off screen, maybe a bird.

Hi Horse, thanks for the clip. Quite the shake up. That CSFP and 'water' tanks are probably doing a dirty dance. I'm sure Tepcorium will be forthright with info.

That object seems to appear out of nowhere. Definitely up to high to be a boat or flare of some sort I think.

Hi Earthy, yeah, Tepco is always quick to point out no damage to the plant before they've even had time to check it out.  That fault off the coast of Namie has slipped a few times; this one was a pretty big jerk.  When I first noticed the light shooting up off the screen I wondered where it came from and what it was so high up on the screen.  A bird roosting on the tower or the crane flies into the bright lights, giving us a glimpse?  I didn't see any more in the recording, the dot of light shows up in the blue sky and quickly floats up off screen.  Tepco' so lucky that hit on a quiet weekend night shift rather than a busy operations shift.

02-24  Puff of smoke.  The camera view has shifted slightly since the EQ.  I notice a lot of boat activity last couple days and nights.
