Post webcam observations for October here.  Observations should start with a date and ‘jst’ time (Japan Standard Time) and camera(s).  Describe as best as possible what you see.  Contribute data such as weather conditions, work activities, TEPCO or local news reports, radiation readings, earthquake activity, or any information that documents events occurring at Daiichi.  Comments and analysis welcome.  Help keep an eye on TEPCO's disaster site.

Hi Horse and all.  It appears they may finally be starting the take down of the 1/2 vent tower...

The night view definitely looks like tip top got shaved off.

Thanks Felibi and RogueRR, I didn't think anyone cared much about the tepcams anymore.  For the few that do I guess I'd better get in a post.  I've been so busy lately with other parts of the board, I've missed quite a bit.  I keep the recorders going and make a few notes so I've noticed the top of the vent tower being chewed off.  I thought they were parking the cutter tool near that tower and I didn't think vent tower one was in the cam4 view, but it is.  Well I remember noticing the tower looked different in September but I didn't have time to figure out what happened.  I had to go back to the first of September.

Thanks for the pictures. I've got one same day at dawn.
Wise Webcam Watching goes on here, thanks to you dear Horse for keeping CRL and this thread alive.
CRL is a soothing place to go to. If you can believe that. Even Fuk. can be beautiful. All the best all. Smiling deep breaths.

Here's a couple more grabs from September.  I noted some blinks on cam 4 I thought might have been sparks but looking back at the recordings, they were flybys.

Fukushima Unit 1-2 Vent Tower Progress Update
November 04, 2019

...Around September 17th a problem with the wifi communications system was caused by water leaking into a wifi antenna on the cutting rig.

... Work began around September 18th to cut the next section of vent tower. Work was completed around September 26th. There was a work delay due to typhoon Tapah

...As workers prepared to cut the outer scaffolding a holding clamp failed and fell to the ground. The clamp landed at the base of the vent tower that is off limits due to high radiation. A replacement clamp was installed on the cutting rig from spare parts.
