Hanford Waste Tunnel Collapse

Tuesday morning, PST, Hanford declared an emergency due to a tunnel collapse. The tunnel was a storage area for nuclear waste. Some staff are ordered to shelter in place, emergency rescue personnel on site, on standby...

24 Hrs after the report of this collapse, my Mazur PRM-9000 alerted me for the first time since I bought it 2 months ago.
This was followed by another high radiation reading from a person in Bend, OR, six hours latter, and I took that as a comfirmation that my reading wasn't a fluke.

190 CPM.

Background 31 CPM.

Hey matt, thanks for the local reading.  I'd keep an eye on that Mazur.  With the detectors Hanford has they know what gets released but its never a problem to them or worth reporting to us.
