12-15 Feeds stop at 18:50, I recycled the browser for cam1 at 19:32 and it was black and white.  Cam4 recycled back into color. Cam1 returned to color about 06:24.  Noted sparks in the B&W and found some in the recording.  Found a nice flash of plasma in arc mode, it lasted 2 frames like most sparks do.  I'm guessing electrical activity could have caused the feed loss and cam1 going into B&W; the lightening would have looked better in color.  No signs of rain. Found a spark pair.  Here's the early morning catch.

I was also watching Horse but it was early morning before the 6:48am sunrise. There were some interesting comparison pics when cam1 was black and white and cam4 was color. Tepco is really trying to filter out the colorful, rad emissions and colorful sparks.
6:15am

6:24am Switched B&W to blue or normal filter. Notice the orange color at the bottom.

6:36am Orange emissions filtered out by grey.

Weather said it was going to be local snow, caught a little snow flurry when a dark cloud rolled through over R4 around 14:23pm today.

The 6:30am screenshots are very curious. On left is the orange, on right is green.

Everybody is noticing increased emissions.  The first pic, 6:15am, shows that gas light burning brightly.  Noticed tonight, it sometimes has a golden or brown color on it and then turns to bright white again; the size of the light varies, making it pulsate.  Wonder if the brown color is emissions passing in front of the light or just the way it dims.  If that light is gas burning off it's well supplied tonight too.  Nice to have colorful sparks on cam1 again, makes it easier to see them blinking.  Just checked the tbs-jnn feed; it's still offline.

Majia noted increased emissions and shows a crane tool with metal sides for nitrogen injection.  It looks different than the vacuum cleaner tool with the black bag.  It does seem that Tepco is having trouble taming the radioactive beasts as well as dealing with myriad equipment problems after the big quake shook the power plant.

There were 5-6 white suits marching back and forth on R3 roof top yesterday afternoon around 15:30pm, and a one tall black suit trailed at the end. Cam1 view had white suits walking around in the red circled area. I finally got a Flashback video but can't attach it here unless I'm registered with one of the following URL's: Dailymotion, Facebook, LiveLink, MetaCafe, Veoh, Vimeo, YouTube. I really didn't want to register but it's the only way I can post a video here so I'll look into these except Facebook. Horse, is Vimeo a favorite of yours? The other video is the brief snow flurry over R4.

In the early morning (12-17-16) it will be overcast with light snowfall. Before noon it will become mostly cloudy. The noon offers clouds with light snowfall. Morning temperatures will be around -1 °C. During the day they will rise to a maximum of 4 °C. Low temperatures at night will be around 2°C. Northwesterly winds are weak.

Weather conflict on webcams yesterday 12-16-16.

I guess TBS/JNN webcam is another lost cause like the 3 minute YouTube vids. October 3rd was the last capture I got just before JNN went down.

Just found this on Scoop.it. Didn't realize this R2 platform was new other than seeing men walking around on it lately.

http://www.fukuleaks.org/web/?p=15969 (good pictures)
TEPCO Erects Mystery Platform Around Unit 2 Fukushima Daiichi
Among images provided by TEPCO of a recent visit to the disaster site by the Kashiwazaki mayor, was this photo. The full image (below) shows the tour looking out over the land side view of unit 2 from the hill. This is the opposite side of the building from where the blow out panel entry platform is located.

This new platform includes extensive stairwells and levels that run the length of the building. A vague mention of preparing the outside of unit 2 for eventual work to remove the refueling floor and replace it with a defueling building was mentioned in a recent NDF report. It is not clear if this is part of that work or something else. TEPCO has not provided any information about this that we have been able to obtain.

I picked Vimeo because I could get 2 gig free and all they want is an email addy to offer me pro.  Youtube would be another to consider but I haven't experience with them.  Wouldn't do Facebook and haven't looked at the others.  Flashback Express video has to be exported for posting, the free version offers Flash or AVI.  Flash gives better quality.

I saw the different weather too, strange to see overcast to the north and clear sunny sky to the south but not unusual.  Some thought it was proof of camera faking but tepco doesn't have to go to all that trouble when they can stop the feeds anytime they don't want us to see anything.  Thanks for dropping the SimplyInfo link.  Notice that the tepcam view has the cooling tower and the cranes blocking that area of r2.  When I see workers in all their protective gear outside in the concentrated radio-smog over the plant, I wonder how they can think it safe for anyone to breathe the dispersed toxins in the air downwind.  I think we all need protective gear.

Common Spent Fuel Pool (CSFP) tarp was dismantled and ripped apart around 10:20am, 12-21-16. Took less than an hour to remove everything.

I don’t get the purpose of the tarp on the csfp.  Is it to protect workers from the elements?  Seems like a lot of trouble just to prevent us from seeing what goes on there.  Last time they took it down they had crane deliveries.

12-22 Watched strong winds shake the tepcams in the morning.  Watched for EQ’s just to make sure it was wind.   I’ve seen the occasional twinkle last couple nights.  12-22 17:40 noticed one blink and saw a yellowish bubble of fog between reactors 1 & 2.  The emissions look to be coming from the seaside of r2.  Saw a couple more sparks.  A Time Lapse would show how it looks to be slowly rising over the plant adding to the regular emissions on the seaside of r4.  The thick fog bubble is only behind r2; a thick fog isn’t showing over the whole area.  Noting a few more sparks while watching the unusual yellowish cloud.

12:22 17:00 – 17:59 16 sparks, 3 distortions
12-22 18:32:33 c4 spark

12-23 10:04 and 12:44 white debris, like paper or cloth, flies by on cam1.  Noticed cam4 shaking; seems very windy.

12-23 pm emissions are not showing on cam1.  After the big fogging last night the view is clear again.  Long time since the view was so clear.

12-23 18:26 – 19:26 15 sparks, 1 distortion

Posting the c4 spark because they are rather rare and it was very bright.  I checked that time frame on cam1 but found no sparks on cam1 at that time.  To compare the emissions of both nights, here’s a spark from each night.

Nice sparks Horse, I hardly every see them on cam4. Yes, heavy fog has cleared up for now. Watched the vacuum machine deep inside R1 yesterday the 24th around 9:30am, stirred up debris causing colorful rads at night inside R1 12-25-16. This also happened during the last earthquake too. Missed a big streaking spark Horse around 00.33.30am just above R1 frame in the middle and 02:12:50am.

So it looks like they added another platform layer on front of R2. Missed taking a snap shop because it was so blurred out you couldn't really recognize what it was.
The white suits walking around the top of R3 are become routine now.

Ho, Ho, Ho, Merry Christmas everyone.

Yes, the fogging is gone for now.  It took a couple months for that episode to end and it went out with a flurry of sparks.  The clear black view probably won't last long, the other pauses in emissions didn't.  Want to track the start and stop of the emissions over that r3 pit/seaside of r4 area better.  Maybe now tbs-jnn will come back, still off-air today.  I expect more delays as tepco looks at the costs and engineering difficulties.

Nice streaking spark, the 00:33 spark pair was the brightest; found 5 more sparks in the 02:12 burst and got one at dawn.  Three of the seven were spark pairs.  Didn't look too long, with all the holiday cheer going on.

Thanks for the streak spark Horse, I just had to enlarge it.

Christmas morning at Fukushima. Tilt screen monitor to see the colors better.

I've posted this before but this chart shows the color variations in the emissions representing wavelength energy intensity and frequency. Indigo and violet are the highest visible light and would be the hot spots seen on the webcam. Like the spark is indigo blue (hottest) at the bottom and becomes cooler green at the top. At least that's what I'm guessing how it works.

Another anomaly located at the bottom of cam4 smoke stack. This could have been a hot spot seen before, don't remember when. Could it be emissions "burn off" thing? Don't know how else to describe it but I did find an older picture showing a type of vent with maybe an opening at the end. This area is typically grayed out so maybe the webcam monitor was absent that Christmas morning.

One more thing, still watching the earthquake map closely. The 7.6 earthquake in Chile today makes me a bit concerned a quake could be on it's way to Japan. This Youtuber "BPearthwatch" has been putting out videos on this energy wave hitting earth on 25th and causing earthquakes.

More quakes to report.

Two injured by magnitude-6.3 earthquake in Ibaraki
http://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2016/12...Gea4GeQxjo

12-28   21:38   Scanned the cam4 recording for the quake shake and found the camera shaking about one minute after the reported time.  Noted an aftershock at 21:54. Watched for awhile and found a real interesting spark, very colorful.  Watched until 23:28 but that was the only spark in the two hours scanned.

Still want to look at cam1 recording for shakes and sparks after I post this; yet here's another EQ.

12-28 Checked cam1 for the 21:38 EQ.  Found a slight shaking, hardly noticeable on the isolation pad.  Watched for an hour and found 18 sparks.  13 sparks were in a 20 minute burst from 21:43 to 22:04, just before the Cam4 spark.  After the EQ was a good time to find fancy sparks.
