Ring Of Fire EQ Damages
#1
Fukushima Daiichi & Daini are undergoing continued patrols to inspect possible damages after the 22 November 2016 earthquake and tsunami (which was not as bad as the 2011 earthquake and tsunami).

The latest follow up report from TEPCO:

"At the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, we stopped the building residence water transferring device at 6:06 am after the earthquake occurred, but in the field patrol after the earthquake there was no abnormality in the device As we confirmed, we restarted the transfer of building residence water at 3:19 pm.

Similarly stopped at 3:44 pm for the RO desalination apparatus (stopped at 6:17 a.m.), at 4:47 p.m. for the second cesium adsorption apparatus (stopped at 6:23 a.m.), sub drain We confirmed that there was no abnormality in the field patrol after the earthquake at 4:20 pm for other water treatment facility (suspended at 6:12 a.m.), so we resumed operation.

Also, at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, we were on-site patrolling each equipment of Units 1 to 6, but the patrol was completed by 4:06 pm and we confirmed the following trouble. We will carry out the restoration work as soon as preparation is completed.

· Damage to the south side silt fence of Units 1 to 4 and the north side silt fence before the 5th and 6th cumulative dives · Pool pool (2 m × 3 m) considered to be due to sloshing on the south side of the shared pool of the shared pool building

· We confirmed that there are no abnormalities with regard to stopping the seawater radiation monitor installed at the top of the breakwater inside the harbor and other facilities."

22 Nov brief flyover Fukushima post earthquake and report via Asahi
http://www.asahi.com/articles/ASJCQ2F44JCQULBJ001.html

"The cooling device of the spent fuel pool of TEPCO Fukushima No. 2 nuclear power plant No. 3 (Tomioka Town, the prefecture) was temporarily suspended due to the earthquake off the coast of Fukushima Prefecture early Monday. An automatic stop device worked normally because the warning indicative of a water level drop occurred in the tank that adjusts the water in the pool, and the pump of the cooling system stopped.

Information on earthquakes and tsunamis on the timeline

According to the Nuclear Regulation Committee and TEPCO, the pump stopped at 6:10 am immediately after it occurred. It was confirmed that there was no abnormality such as water leak and restarted at 7:47 am about 1 hour and 40 minutes later. A temporary blackout occurred at a part of the plant's nuclear power plant, and the monitoring post to measure the radiation on the site stopped but it recovered.

The pool has 2544 bodies of fuel, but the water temperature at the time of stoppage is 29 · 3 degrees at the place near the water surface. It is said that there was a seven-day delay to exceed the 65 ° limit of the driving limit. The water temperature at restart was 29.5 degrees.

According to TEPCO, TEPCO Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station confirmed a rise in the tide level of 1 meter, but there is no abnormality. In addition, no abnormality has been reported in Nihon Genki Electric Tokai No. 2 Nuclear Power Plant (Ibaraki Prefecture) and Tohoku Electric Power's Onukawa Nuclear Power Plant (Miyagi Prefecture). There is no change in the value of the monitoring post."

The flyover doesn't look like the Fukushima Nuclear Plants I'm used to seeing.   Huh

Idea  Just wondering where the line between 'fake news' and misleading media manipulated feeds will be drawn.

Betting that's Fukushima Daini.... not identified in caption under photo, nor is a date given.

There was another significant earthquake the morning of the 24th just off the coast form Fukushima. I imagine the foundation of the facilities at Fukushima Daiichi are not as secure as they ought be.

TEPCO's first report:

An earthquake (M 6.1) with epicenter off Fukushima Prefecture occurred around 6:23 am today today (November 24).

The situation of Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station is as follows.

· At present, no abnormality of each unit due to earthquake, significant fluctuation of monitoring post instruction value, occurrence of injured person is confirmed.
The situation of Fukushima Daini Nuclear Power Station is as follows.

· At present, no abnormality of each unit due to earthquake, significant fluctuation of monitoring post instruction value, occurrence of injured person is confirmed.

We are currently patrolling at both power plants.

The maximum numerical values of seismometers observed at both power plants are as follows.

· Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station horizontal: 11.8 gal (Unit 6)
Vertical: 8.3 gal (Unit 6)

· Fukushima Daini Nuclear Power Station horizontal: 12.0 gal (Unit 2)
Vertical: 12.5 gal (Unit 2)"

Their "last" report:

"It is a follow-up report about the earthquake with seismic off Fukushima Prefecture occurred around 6:23 am today today (November 24).

As for the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, as a result of on-site patrol after the earthquake, at 0:30 pm, each facility (nuclear reactor injection facility, spent fuel pool cooling facility, water treatment facility, residence water transfer facility, contaminated water tank, Power supply equipment etc.) have no abnormality.

In addition, regarding Fukushima Daini Nuclear Power Station, as already announced, no abnormality has been confirmed in each facility."
