Hey Chasaha, found a sample of the r4 corner light at dusk when it shows brightly.  I've had lousy internet service all week after they had their maintenance outage last Sunday resulting in missing time and jerky recordings.  After checking all my equipment I finally called them and got their equipment working better.  Might be able to do reliable sparks counts again.  10-14 I found 19 sparks and 2 distortions in just under an hour.  Found a nice fancy spark on the tower.

Thanks folks, I think the fancy sparks are pretty awesome too.  I found that one off by its self shortly after a one second distortion; it wasn't in a spark burst or surge where I'm usually looking; I found it skipping around the recordings looking for things Chasaha had noted.  Is the radioactive dust stirred up by opening unit 1 a cause of the fancy sparks of light the camera is registering?  Sure have been seeing a lot of sparks lately.  Clever of TEPCO to hide this feature of the cameras in a high radiation environment by stopping the 2x TL and leaving most everyone to rely on a 30x TL archive.  Most of the ENEnews watchers used VLC media player and the direct feeds; all gone and changed to Flowplayer.  I found that watching the Flowplayer window at 190% and repositioning, I could get rid of the Tepco stuff and see the recorders almost full screen on my little monitors.  Watching in real time, I've noted a dozen blinks while I'm keying this in; almost impossible to catch a screen grab though without a real time recording.  Radioactive dust, vapor, and water; the human eye can't see, leaking out; diluting into an environment we need to live in.  The fancy sparks of radioactivity found in the recordings were scattered far and wide.  The panels have come off and the skeletal remains of unit 1 is a stark reminder of the damage that nuclear power production can do to a country and to the world.  Of course, they don't want us to measure the radioactivity or even notice the invisible deadly heavy metal and vaporous toxins they've unleashed.  I still see sparks even if most people can't and we're still getting dosed with man-made radiation even if most people don't know it.

10-19 06:18  The remote crane removed the west side panel from the south wall of Unit 1.  The east and south wall are hiding on the backside of the building in the view on cam1 and the crane doesn’t lift the panel that high, out of sight in minutes, we could easily miss noticing those panels being removed.

10-21 am. Curtain down on the csfp, workers scurry around starting about 09:30, finished by 11:00.

There appears to be, over time, ongoing steaming as evidenced in this screenshot of Unit 1 side Fukushima webcam recordings. https://www.youtube.com/user/sengoku1904/videos

The steam emissions visible last night don't stand out in the bright light of day.  At dawn I watched the bright pink sunrise and there weren't any clouds in the sky to explain away those emissions.   Most of the steam looked like it came from the seaside of r4, the reactor Tepco claimed to have emptied of all spent fuel, nicely covered so we can't see the sinking wreck, I bet there's still broken fuel rods and melted slag left in that sfp.  The r3 pit was to get a superstructure to remove spent fuel from r3's sfp this summer but I don't see much progress there yet.  Some of the emissions floated above r2, the one Tepco hardly ever reports on.  The r2 building didn't explode but there's still a Pandora's box of melted fuel somewhere inside that building that even Tepco is afraid to open.  Elevated NetC alerts and regular bursts of sparks since the r1 panels started coming off.  I've seen pictures of the inside of r1 that show a big pile of debris in the middle and wreckage hanging low over the sfp.  I expect more sparks and elevated NetC readings as they stir up debris trying to remove the wreckage hanging over r1's sfp and cleaning the floor searching for r1's missing corium.

The dinky blinky at the corner of Unit 4 is back.

At times the steam  looks colorfully gaseous.   Undecided

Chasaha, I saw that light at sunset, very bright.  No clue what it might be, no obvious equipment there in the sky behind r4.  Noticing lots of spark clusters, I found a nice blue double just before dawn.  Sunrise was very pink on both tepcams.  Another panel removed on 10-28 early in the morning.
